Three themes have been identified as the most important: a) ECoC communication and marketing plan, considering: geographical division strategy (local, national, regional, EU), chronological division strategy (communication in preparatory years,\u00a0 in the winning year and\u00a0 afterward), communication tools and stakeholder mapping (planning, managing and responding); b) Crisis communication (challenges of communication in the framework of ECoC) and c) Marketing and communication legacy (the long term legacy \u2013 through which the City should, ideally, feel and work differently).<\/p>\n<p>It should be emphasized that one of the most important priorities of every ECOC is to improve the visibility of a city as a whole on an international scale. Therefore, it should be important to communicate the designation and specific activities of the ECoC, communication tools and branding, as well as to timely respond and communicate in crisis situations. The above mentioned topics are of crucial importance for completing through the first marketing and communication seminar.<\/p>\n<p>Seminar guests\/experts are Mr Xabier Paya (Programme Director San Sebastian 2016) and Mr Neil Peterson (Inside Track; Liverpool 2008). The concept of the seminar consists of lectures and short workshops.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Xabier Paya is a translator, improviser, musician and researcher that will give a talk on the main challenges of communication within the framework of ECOC. His lecture will consist of three main sections: the basics of ECOC communication, the particular case of San Sebastian 2016, and a series of questions, tips and dilemmas connected to ECOC.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Neil Peterson is the director and founder of Inside Track, a cultural and creative consultancy that focuses on helping clients deliver positive social and economic changes through culture, creativity and sports, as well as other participatory events. The lecture will present successful examples as well as avoidable pitfalls, based on previous ECOC experience.<\/p>\n<p>There are three groups of participants, according to their role within ECOC: a) ECOC staff (current and future ECOCs); b) Rijeka 2020 partners, local cultural institutions; c) cultural workers* from Croatia, individuals that engage in marketing, selling and entertaining the audience in organizations \/ institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The Seminar will be held in RiHub, Ivana Grohovca 1\/a, 7<sup>th<\/sup> and 8<sup>th<\/sup> of June. The official language is English. Entry is free for all participants from Rijeka and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.<\/p>\n<p>For participants coming from other areas, the price for the 2-day seminar is 200kn.
