The International Conference on Diversity in Culture and the Creative Industries will be <a href=\"https:\/\/rijeka2020.eu\/en\/projekti\/diversity-mixer-conference\/speakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">attended by prominent experts and cultural workers<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Lev Manovich, a leading digital culture theorist, Director of Cultural Analytics Lab and author of the classic book The Language of New Media will present the initial results of Elsewhere, a new research project analysing millions of posts on social media and records the changes in the relationship between the periphery and the centre of new cultural geographies.<br \/>\nAllisa Quart, Guardian columnist and Executive Director of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project, will showcase an innovative model applied by her organisation in reporting on inequality.<br \/>\nMark Taylor from the University of Sheffield will introduce the research project Panic! Class, Taste and Inequalities in the Cultural and Creative Industries.<br \/>\nSr\u0111an Laterza, writer and creative director, will talk about socially conscious video games.<br \/>\nIlija MIlo\u0161evi\u0107 of Universal Music Group Serbia will introduce trends in the global and regional music industry.<br \/>\nSr\u0111an Sandi\u0107, who is visiting Rijeka with the Reading Theatre forum, during which Nata\u0161a Antulov will show a &#8220;different side of theatre in Croatia&#8221; using the Fifth Ensemble and others as an example.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is realized as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/rijeka2020.eu\/en\/projekti\/diversity-mixer-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Diversity mixer project<\/a>, which is financed by the European Union Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (2014-2020) and is implemented jointly by RIJEKA 2020 d.o.o. and the Academy of Applied Arts of the University of Rijeka, in cooperation with the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development as an associate partner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applications for the Diversity Mixer, an international conference on diversity in culture and the creative industries, which will be held from 12 to 14 September at Rijeka&#8217;s RiHub, Grahov\u010deva 1, are free of charge.
