Northern Cres<\/h1>\n

On the green hill of the northern side of the island of Cres, there is a thick forest, known as Tramuntana, with a vegetation so diverse it represents an extremely important example of natural heritage. The wind is an ubiquitous weather element, which is also reflected in the way of life.
\nThe north of Cres is also known for the highly protected griffon vultures which make their nests here on the steep cliffs overlooking the sea. This is the northernmost European colony of griffon vultures.
\nAccording to the most recent census of 2011, the settlements of northern Cres are inhabited by 129 people.<\/p>\n

Olja Savi\u010devi\u0107 Ivan\u010devi\u0107<\/h1>\n

Olja Savi\u010devi\u0107 Ivan\u010devi\u0107 is a poet and prosaic and dramatic author, born in Split in 1974. She graduated in Croatian language and literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zadar, where she also undertook a post-graduate course.
\nShe won the \u201cProzak\u201d award for her manuscript \u201cNasmijati psa\u201d (\u201cTo Make a Dog Laugh\u201d), as well as first prize at the \u201dRanko Marinkovi\u0107\u201d short story competition of Ve\u010dernji list, and the \u201cKiklop\u201d award for best poetry collection \u201cKu\u0107na pravila\u201d (\u201cHouse Rules\u201d). The novel \u201cAdio kauboju\u201d (\u201cFarewell, Cowboy\u201d) won the T-portal award for best novel and the \u201cJure Ka\u0161telan\u201d award for art, presented by Slobodna Dalmacija. The novel \u201cAdio kauboju\u201d was staged as a play under the same name. The novel \u201cPjeva\u010d u no\u0107i\u201d (\u201cSinger in the Night\u201d) won the award \u201cLibar za vajk\u201d (\u201ca book for life\u201d) at the Pula Book Fair. Olja Savi\u010devi\u0107 Ivani\u010devi\u0107 won the regional award of the \u201cDruga prikazna\u201d (\u201cother story\u201d) festival in Skopje for her literary work so far. Some of Olja\u2019s stories were the basis for scripts and short feature films, and several plays for children and youth were staged based on her dramatic texts. She is the author of numerous theatre play songs. A graphic novella-comic by the team \u017de\u017eelj-Paljan was created on the basis of her story \u201cPederi\u201d (\u201cFags\u201d). Her works were translated into a dozen foreign languages and published in over ten European countries and the US. She lives and works in Split as a freelance writer.
\nBooks and poetry collections published so far: \u201cBit \u0107e stra\u0161no kada ja porastem\u201d (\u201cWhen I\u2019m Older, It\u2019s Going To Be Hell\u201d) of 1988, \u201cVje\u010dna djeca\u201d (Eternal Children\u201d) of 1993, \u201c\u017densko pismo\u201d (\u201cWomen\u2019s Writing\u201d) of 1999, \u201cPuzzlerojc\u201d of 2005, \u201cKu\u0107na pravila\u201d of 2007, \u201cMamasafari\u201d of 2012, collection of stories: \u201cNasmijati psa\u201d of 2006, novels: \u201cAdio kauboju\u201d of 2010 and \u201cPjeva\u010d u no\u0107i\u201d of 2016, picture storybook \u201c\u0160porki \u0160piro i Neposlu\u0161na Tonka\u201d (\u201cSloppy Spiro and Cheeky Tonka\u201d) of 2017 in cooperation with the illustrator Svjetlan Junakovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
