As part of Rijeka’s “Kamov” youth theatre’s pilot project, Croatian drama society and Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc’s ballet troupe will premiere “Voda”, directed and choreographed by Matija Ferlin and adapted from the eponymous Vladimir Nazor novella by Goran Fer\u010dec.<\/p>\n
Ahead of its 17th of March premiere, and during April and May, several accompanying activities will take place, some of which will be aimed at children, as part of Rijeka 2020 ECOC’s Children’s House programme.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow, on Friday, March 9th, there will be a discussion on the topic of “Kazali\u0161te za djecu i mlade – vi\u0161e od didaktike” (Theatre for children and the youth – more than didactics) and on March 16th at 18:00, in the foyer of Ivan pl. Zajc theatre dr.sc Olga Peri\u0107 will give a lecture titled “Bra\u010dki ciklus Vladimira Nazora” (Vladimir Nazor’s Bra\u010d cycle). Mid-April a workshop on water will take place in cooperation with Ben\u010di\u0107 Youth Council, including field work and an interactive walk, and we can also announce a lecture on Rijeka’s water in cooperation with KD Vodovod i kanalizacija Rijeka as well as an art installation by Mauricije Ferlin entitled Slu\u0161aj vodu (zvu\u010dni \u0161ator) (Listen to water (sound tent)) – Ferlin is the choreographer of the “Voda” play and the installation will allow children to listen to a radio drama based on the play.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the premiere of Nazor’s “Voda” Ivan pl. Zajc theatre invites you to its March 9th programme in HKD Su\u0161ak theatre at 18:00, titled \u201eKazali\u0161te za djecu i mlade \u2013 vi\u0161e od didaktike?\u201c<\/strong> The programme will be dedicated to the way children and the youth perceive theatre, i.e. how much attention they pay to the form and how much to content and what are their expectations from the theatre. You see, art for children and youth often insists on a didactic function and an obligation that children’s experience of art must involve a lesson as well, which renders whatever is learned by their simple presence in the theatre moot. Speakers include “Voda” director and choreographer Matija Ferlin, its dramatist Goran Feren\u010dec, professor Tatjana Krpan Mofarding and the students of Rijeka’s elementary schools, and it will be moderated by dramatist Nata\u0161a Antulov.<\/p>\n The lecture by dr.sc Olga Peri\u0107, a great aficionado of Nazor and also his grandniece, will present a specific part of Nazor’s work, the one dedicated to the island of Bra\u010d, where Nazor was born and spent his childhood. It will deal not only with contextualizing the “Voda” novella but also the context of life within which it was written.
