{"id":10806,"date":"2018-01-26T17:43:57","date_gmt":"2018-01-26T16:43:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rijeka2020.eu\/?p=10806\/"},"modified":"2018-02-15T17:46:59","modified_gmt":"2018-02-15T16:46:59","slug":"new-world-order-fresh-symposium-on-blockchain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ri2020.eu\/en\/new-world-order-fresh-symposium-on-blockchain\/","title":{"rendered":"New World Order: fresh symposium on blockchain!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The symposium focuses on the increasingly present, mysterious and controversial Blockchain technology which, in addition to being a basis for the existence of digital currency such as Bitcoin, enables new forms of management and trade which will have an impact on society as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the two-day symposium is to broaden the perspective on blockchain technology and its potential beyond the scope of cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>The event includes people who will share their experiences with the implementation of blockchain technology in different projects in the fields of sustainable development, humanitarian activities, social and financial aid for the disempowered and poor, as well as new methods of financing cultural and artistic production. The introductory presentation on blockchain technology will be held by IT journalist, free software expert and one of the leading domestic IT experts Radoslav Dejanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>Member of the editorial team Ruth Catlow from London-based organisation Furtherfield will present the book Artists Re:Thinking the Blockchain, which covers the artistic, speculative, conceptual and technical aspects of blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>Artists Paul Kolling, Jaya Klara Brekke and Max Dowey, who artworks are part of the New World Order exhibition which will open in the Filodrammatica gallery, will participate in two panels on the social and artistic implications of blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>The gallery opens on Thursday, 15 February at 8 PM and will remain open until 9 March.
