This is a fantastic opportunity to connect the two cities and universities, as well as the two huge European projects.<\/p>\n<p>University of Rijeka rector Snje\u017eana Priji\u0107 Samar\u017eija and University of Trieste rector Maurizio Fermeglio made introductory speeches, and then Development and Strategic Partnerships Director Irena Kregar \u0160egota (Rijeka 2020), full professor Rajka Jurdana \u0160epi\u0107, PhD (Department of Physics of the University of Rijeka) and architect Ida Kri\u017eaj Leko presented plans and projects of Rijeka 2020 \u2013 ECOC.<\/p>\n<p>This opportunity is further made relevant by the fact that both cities have similar historical and industrial heritage and bear important titles in the same year, paving the way for mutual programme participation on relevant topics.
